act2studioWORKS (the operating arm of Act 2 Studio Works Inc.) is a prominent leader in theatre education and creativity for older adults, providing a vibrant community for adults aged 50+. Moving Scenes is the touring and production arm of act2studioWORKS. With a focus on health, social and later-life issues, for more than twenty years we have performed our Moving Scenes collection of shows for a variety of audiences including community groups, businesses, health care professionals, conferences, special events, schools, and unions across Canada and in the United States.
Our education model is unique. Using the power of theatre, our cohort of mature actors create greater understanding of the complexities of day-to-day living for persons (and their caregivers) struggling with later life issues such as cancer, dementia and other cognitive impairments. We take difficult material and create entertaining theatre to help our audiences learn to cope with these issues.
