Refugee claimants, accepted refugees, and resettled refugees benefit from accompaniment in the first months after their arrival to a new country. In addition, new arrivals are often unfamiliar with their rights. We assist persons detained for immigration reasons in knowing their rights and accessing justice. We accompany new arrivals to help with their integration into Canadian society, thus reducing isolation. As well we speak in academic circles, with media, and in public meetings to promote the rights of refugees.
