Action Saint-François is an environmental organization active in Sherbrooke (Quebec) since 1992. It is well known for its stream cleaning activities; nearly 600 tonnes of waste have been removed from various Quebec streams, including 80% of the harvested materials that have been recycled. The organization also carries out revegetation activities on the banks and more than 35,000 plants have been planted in Quebec since 2007.
Our objective for 2020: to collect 10 metric tons of residual materials and to recycle 80%, for a total of 25 activities and bringing together more than 400 dedicated volunteers.
In addition to field activities, Action Saint-François informs, educates and educates citizens by presenting conferences and kiosks on the environment: Nature Fair bringing together companies and organizations, as well as education workshops on nature and protection of the environment in primary and secondary schools. While respecting government health measures, these activities will continue in 2020 with volunteer citizen participation at the heart of the action for the preservation of waterways and wetlands in Quebec. All this cannot be achieved without your support!
