Over the past month, Indonesia has been struck by a number of large earthquakes and hundreds of aftershocks. On Friday, September 28th one of the earthquakes triggered a tsunami that has caused extensive damage in the city of Palu. It is being reported that the waves were possibly 10 to 18 feet high and travelling at approximately 800 kph.
Hundreds are dead and injured. Buildings, including a major hospital have been destroyed. The airport is closed, roads are damaged, and bridges are gone. The full extent of the destruction is not yet known, but hundreds of thousands have been affected.
The ADRA network has been responding by providing food, clean water, medicine, tents for shelter, and much more for the survivors in Indonesia.
