Nepal
When you donate the funds to hire expert local well drillers, our team gets clean water brought to remote neighbourhoods, far out into the countryside. What a life-changing investment! Many women have to walk hours a day and carry the water home in buckets - think what they could be doing with this time saved! Water is the start of everything: with no water, they cannot cook, wash, care for their children, water their gardens, raise farmyard animals. Your gift changes everything!
$1400 provides a small water pump with cement platform, and these are used by 10-20 families. They send "a million thank yous!"
India
Our project in India provides village water wells to people without access to drinking water. The installation of these borewells are drilled by local contractors, and last 25 - 30 years. The water is drinkable directly from the pump! These water wells supply water to rural villages, far out into the countryside. These villages of 100 - 150 families are thankful for clean, fresh water they no longer have to walk hours and hours to get.
$3800 includes professional site inspection and drilling team, borewell truck rental, cement platform, pump fixtures and a customized granite plaque.
Haiti
We operate a free Community Lunch program. All the groceries bought from local farmers and the food cooked by a team of local women. This gives us the opportunity to not only give food to the poor, but brings employment to the local cooks. Currently we give away 300+ hot lunch a week to the hungry (we increased by 200% just in 2024 when Nicola began to work full time for ACI, raising her own support)
$2 Canadian per plate is our budget. This covers groceries, propane for the stove tanks, cooks, utensils, and delivery to those who are unable to pick up their lunch. Each guest brings their own dish, so we save on buying disposable plates and there is close to zero waste.
When you partner with us monthly, it helps us plan our lunch budget and I know we can grow as fast as the funds come in. This practical help for the most vulnerable (many of our senior guests are homeless, sleeping on the side of the road) can only be done with your generous help.
