Ensuring Food Access for the Most Vulnerable

ACSA is working hard to serve our communities, particularly those most vulnerable, during this difficult time. While many of our programs have gone online, we are still continuing to serve many vulnerable individuals who rely heavily on two essential services- the food bank and homeless drop-in services. ACSA is committed to keeping its doors open to these programs, as people are relying heavily on these supports, and often them being able to access these supports is a matter of survival. The food bank currently operates 3 afternoons a week on a drop in basis where any one in need can get access to a parcel of goods. At this point over 100 people are being served daily, and we expect this number to increase dramatically over the coming weeks. The Drop In services provide meals 6 days a week to those who are homeless, as well as provides access to other essentials that are needed to support people living in the elements (for example, tents, tarps, sleeping bags, etc.).
