About Aidaen’s Place Youth Support Hub
Aidaen’s Place Youth Support Hub is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to keeping youth alive and thriving through life skill development and resilience-based programming. We serve youth ages 9 to 18 and their families across the tri-counties of Western Nova Scotia—Yarmouth, Digby, and Shelburne.
Lovingly known as The Purple House, Aidaen’s Place was founded in memory of Aidaen Mae Mitchell, who died by suicide in 2019 at the age of 14. Her story fuels our passion to ensure that no young person ever feels invisible or alone. Our mission is rooted in compassion: someone is always listening, and someone always cares.
We offer hands-on workshops, peer support, creative exploration, and access to basic needs like meals, laundry, and clothing. Every program is designed to help youth build resilience, confidence, and the practical life skills needed to thrive.
We also support parents and guardians of youth under 18 through life coaching, family resilience training, and guardian support nights—strengthening family connections and creating healthier homes.
At Aidaen’s Place, we’re building a brighter, more connected future—one youth, one family, and one community at a time.
