Air Canada launched the Air Canada Foundation in 2012 to continue, build on and expand the reach of its community investment initiatives. The Air Canada Foundation's mandate is to help connect sick children with the medical care they need, alleviate child poverty and make the wishes of ill children come true.
We work toward this mandate by supporting pediatric hospitals and by providing assistance to charitable organizations across Canada.
In 2014, the Foundation donated more than a million dollars, hundreds of promotional tickets and millions of Aeroplan miles to registered charities across Canada.
About Air Canada Foundation
SUPPORT OF CHILDREN'S CHARITIES: Donations of cash, airline tickets and Aeroplan Miles are provided to registered Canadian charities that work with children.
SUPPORT OF OTHER HEALTH RELATED CAUSES:On an ad hoc basis, the Air Canada Foundation provides support to eligible charities for fundraising purposes.
HOSPITAL TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM: This program benefits 15 pediatric hospitals across Canada through the donation of Aeroplan Miles used to transport children and a parent to centers offering medical treatment unavailable in their community. To donate your Aeroplan Miles and help sick children, visit aircanada.com/foundation.
EVERY BIT COUNTS: Air Canada collects small change of any currency on its flights, in large decorative canisters in airports and Maple Leaf Lounges. Funds collected are donated to organizations supported by the Foundation.
The Foundation actively participates in humanitarian relief activity following natural disasters.
