Cool the Interpretive Centre!

The Interpretive Centre was originally the South Warehouse for the Grain Elevator Complex. It was one level with exposed framing and a metal plate floor. In 2015 the Society had to move a corner of building off CP Rail's land and decided it was time to develop a separate office, meeting and display space. We moved the building forward, dug a basement and moved it back into place but on our land now. We opened the Interpretive Centre in 2017.

While the building is complete, we ran out of funds to put in an air conditioner. The metal walls make it very hot inside during the warmer months. So hot that the Museum Coordinator bought a blow up pool to allow the summer staff to use to cool off! Several times over the summer we had to close early because it was close to 30 degrees inside!

We have chosen a quote for the purchasing and installation of an air conditioning unit. We need to raise $5500.00 to get this important piece of equipment. A Napolean 13 Seer 3 Ton AC system has been chosen.

Please consider helping us keep our staff and visitors cool.
