In 1974, the Alix Wagon Wheel Museum received Alberta Society status. The collection was started in the basement of the Drop-In Centre. Later, the former Pool Hall was purchased and the collection moved there. The museum is dedicated to preserving, displaying, and interpreting the artifacts, documents, and narratives of the history of the area of the present Village of Alix and its surrounding rural school districts.
