Amazing Love Development Organization (ALDO) is a grassroots Canadian charitable organization (CRA BN: 824775852RR0001) founded with a powerful vision: to break the cycle of poverty by expanding access to quality education, practical skills training, and leadership development for vulnerable children in Nakyere Village, Uganda.

Led entirely by a volunteer board with no salaried staff, ALDO directs every donated dollar to where it matters most, directly into the lives of children and the community that supports them.

Our Impact

Since its founding, ALDO has been a catalyst for change in Nakyere Village, Uganda, transforming access to education and opportunity for hundreds of vulnerable children. Through Amazing Love School, we currently support over 500 students, employ 20 dedicated teachers and staff, and serve a wider community of more than 3,700 people.

Our impact reaches far beyond the classroom. From providing daily meals and safe learning spaces, to supplying books, digital learning tools, and hands-on skills training, we’re equipping children not just to survive, but to thrive.

Here’s what that impact looks like:

• 95% of our students complete Uganda’s National Primary Leaving Exams (PLE) in Division One or Two, a remarkable achievement in a rural setting.
• 85% of our graduates continue on to secondary education, defying the odds in a region where dropout rates are high.
• Since launching our school feeding program, attendance has risen by 30%, proving that a simple meal can open the door to consistent learning.
• We are proud to support over 50 girls in our boarding section, creating a safe and empowering environment for girls to stay in school.
• Our students have been regional robotics champions for three consecutive years, thanks to our efforts to introduce Robotics into their learning journey.

 Every child we reach moves one step closer to breaking the cycle of poverty, through education, safety, and hope.

Who We Serve

ALDO’s programs serve some of the most at-risk children in Uganda, including:

• Orphans and abandoned children
• Victims of child labor, abuse, or neglect
• Children exposed to domestic violence, alcoholism, and exploitation
• Children of parents with disabilities or severe economic hardship

These children face unimaginable odds, and ALDO exists to help change their stories.

Our Areas of Focus

To create lasting impact, ALDO is investing in five critical pillars of educational development:

1. Early Childhood Education Building strong foundations through structured, age-appropriate learning.
2. Literacy & Digital Tools Equipping classrooms with books and digital resources that open doors to knowledge and opportunity.
3. Feeding & Nutrition Program Providing daily meals so no child has to learn on an empty stomach.
4. Emergency Transportation Ensuring students can travel safely to and from school in areas where distance and sicknesses are everyday challenges.
5. Teacher Support & Retention Empowering educators with fair wages ($2,400/year on average) to retain passionate, qualified teachers.
