Take Back the Night began in the 70’s as a street march hosted in solidarity and protest against street violence and harassment.Today, it is an annual event, usually a march to shed light on street violence and harassment as well as sexual and gender-based violence. This year we are pleased to announce that we will be resuming the Take Back The Night tradition of holding an in person event and march. We will be continuing with last year’s theme of ‘Lighting Up The Night & Shedding Light  On Gender Based Violence Together. 

If you cannot make the event and march but still want to support the event from home, you can request a luminary kit here for a donation to our centre. We suggest a minimum of $3 per order. This means you will not have to make a donation for each luminary kit if you have more than one person in your household who wants one. 

Please indicate your name, number of kits requested (1 per person in your household), email and contact number. You can pick up your luminary kit order at our office, located at 101 Worthington St. W. Suite 215, September 6th- September 14th between 9am-4pm. 

1 Luminary Kit will include:

- 1 Amelia Rising white paper lantern

- 1 LED candle

- Amelia Rising swag (first 25 kits reserved will come with bonus swag!)

- Information relevant to GBV/SV, sexual health and consent

If any of these luminary kits are for someone under the age of 12, please indicate the number of under 12 kits you will be needing.
