We address the plight of community cats in Toronto through adoption, TNR and ongoing care.
Annex Cat Rescue is dedicated to eliminating cat homelessness in Toronto. Until that time, we care for cats and kittens in a variety of ways including (but not limited to) daily feeding and colony management, medical/dental care, socializing, fostering, adopting or, in the case of feral cats, spaying/neutering and returning (TNR). Now in its 21st year, ACR remains 100% volunteer-run with 89% of monies raised helping cats in partnership with veterinarians who provide services at reduced rates.
About ANNEX CAT RESCUE
Annex Cat Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run charity dedicated to helping community (feral, stray and abandoned) cats and their kittens in Toronto. ACR does not operate an animal shelter, instead using a network of foster homes to care for cats prior to permanent adoption. We also feed and tend to 20 feral cat colonies each day, using trap-neuter/spay-return (TNR) for feral adult cats.
What People Are Saying
"Thank you so much for making my adoption of Biscuit a reality. He is an absolute delight -- no, actually, there are no words to describe how amazing he is. Annex Cat Rescue is a wonderful organization. I am so proud to have been a part of all of this."
— Leonore L.
"As a colony coordinator and feeder, it's so great seeing the regulars show up for their dinner. Knowing that ACR is there to support them and make a difference in these cat's lives makes feeding such a rewarding experience. Each cat is looked after and you can tell when you see them."
— James B.
"Being able to speak with the foster parent really made all the difference. In a shelter Molly would have been overlooked as she is very timid. However, her foster mom provided honest and helpful information about Molly’s behaviour at home. She has had a wonderful impact on my home life."
— Julian R.
