Arbor Gallery - Galerie Arbor is located in the historic Higginson house built by William Higginson in 1856. In addition to viewing a current exhibition of contemporary art, you can see a grand proscenium arch spanning the living room; original 12 inch wide red pine plank floors and an abundance of wide profiled mouldings and baseboards grace the gallery.

Fun Facts

The original Higginson land included all land from Vankleek Hill to Happy Hollow Road. The church was cut out from the original farm land.

Thomas Higginson, William’s father, was an original member of Canada’s Parliament.

In the mid 1970's, the house was sold to the Whiteside family. For a while, they ran an art school here, as well as having guest artists.

In 1993 Phil Arber purchased the building and in 1994 opened the Arbor Gallery.
