The mission of the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation is to improve health and wellness for children and youth in Nunavut.

About ARCTIC CHILDREN AND YOUTH FOUNDATION

The Arctic Children and Youth Foundation and its board of directors understand and are committed to making change and focusing on children and youth in Nunavut under the following Rationale;

Nunavut children and youth are in a crisis of transition,

Nunavut children and youth need a strong representational voice,

There are major gaps in services and research related to children and youth in Nunavut,

Nunavut children and youth require Nunavut appropriate programs.

One of our major programs is the Umingmak Child and Youth Support Centre, Nunavut's first Child Advocacy Centre. The centre addresses the needs of children and youth who experience abuse, and always strives to meet the cultural needs of Nunavummiut. As a one-stop-shop, the centre co-ordinates the efforts of the various service providers to ensure that all evidence is gathered with the best supports in place to support the child and caregivers.
