Art With Impact Canada promotes mental wellness by creating space for young people to learn and connect through art and media. Knowing that art speaks the language of our interior worlds, we harness this medium to engage with young people on the vital topic of mental health, inspiring and empowering them to tell their own stories. Our programs create supportive and interactive spaces for engagement, both online and in face-to-face experiences.
In the past two years we have visited close to 30 college and university campuses across Canada with our flagship Movies for Mental Health program - free, on site workshops held on postsecondary campuses that use the power of short film to create meaningful and compassion conversations among youth and direct them to accessible services that stigma inhibits most young people from accessing. We envision a world where young people can communicate freely and fearlessly about their mental health, free of judgment.
Where we've worked!
This past 2017/18 year over 800 students on 20 campuses attended Movies 4 Mental Health events. Out of these young people, 71% of students not already in therapy reported an increased likelihood to seek support for their own well-being.
Art With Impact Canada is committed to engaging young people, artists, professionals, and academic institutions in sustainable partnerships that revere art as a catalyst for cultural change! Join our movement today and make mental wellness a priority!
