Artspace is Peterborough’s artist run centre and has been serving the community for more than 50 years. We are a non-profit, charitable organization committed to nurturing the development and presentation of new work from artists of all disciplines. 

Our Objectives:

To foster dialogue between contemporary artists from diverse cultural/political perspectives

To cultivate dynamic audience engagement relevant to a wide range of community members on local, provincial, and national platforms

To provide professional development; to serve our membership as a community hub, educator, and provider of tools and resources.

To provide leadership and advocacy for artists facing institutional barriers and seeking equitable conditions. 

As a hub for artistic endeavours in the region, we bring people together to engage with art and ideas. We strive to reflect the diverse perspectives of emerging and established artistic voices and to provide quality programming through workshops, performances, screenings, events, and exhibitions. Our programming is made possible through government grants, corporate sponsorships, and individual donations.
