ASPEN VALLEY WILDLIFE SANCTUARY (ROSSEAU)

about

For more than 40 years, our not for profit charity is situated on 460 acres in Rosseau, Ontario in the heart of Muskoka.

We receive zero government funding and are 100% dependent on public donations. In addition, we couldn't do what we do without the hard work and commitment of volunteers.

Why do we exist?

We are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, sick and orphaned wildlife giving them a second chance.  We also provide a Sanctuary for wildlife who have come to us from various situations such as zoo closures, seizures from animal rescue authorities, or cases where animals have become to habituated for release.  We do not breed, buy or sell wildlife but rather provide a forever home in a natural setting with all that the Muskoka landscape offers.  Some of the Sanctuary animals include black bears, moose, timber wolves, coyotes, foxes, lynx and bobcats.  At the root of it all, some form of human intervention with wildlife is the main reason why we do what we do.

Wildlife intersects with all areas of our community.  Aspen Valley provides a direct public service by responding to hundreds of inquiries and intake of animals we receive 365 days a year.  Whether the situation is an animal in distress, orphaned, injured or considered a nuisance, concerned citizens need expert advice and a solution to the issue at hand.

By becoming a donor, you are helping to give wildlife a second chance.

Thank you for your support!
