The Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ) is the most important global gathering of theatre designers. Launched in 1967, it now welcomes artist representatives from over 90 countries to exhibit their work, exchange ideas and expertise through workshops, performances and seminars, and to renew and invigorate themselves artistically.

Increasing the visibility of Canadian design both at home and on an international stage, is an important part of ADC’s mandate. Participating in PQ is an essential part of maintaining Canada’s presence in the international design community. For individual artists, participation in PQ is a mark of professional distinction and an opportunity for professional development, growth and rejuvenation. For the Associated Designers of Canada, PQ is an unique opportunity to disseminate the work of Canada’s professional designers to theatre practitioners from around the world, all in one space. Collaborations and future partnerships are formed at PQ and the value of being together as a community of designers is immeasurable.
