Our mission

Because no one is safe from disaster, because no one is ready to face tragedy, because no one is invincible, we are here.

At the scene of a disaster, victims and firefighters need help and support. We offer them our shoulder to console them, to reassure them. We reach out our hand to help them get up, stay upright, stay dignified.

We come to the aid of disaster victims by offering them shelter in our buses, offering them food, drink, clothing and, above all, psychological support to help them cope with the disaster affecting them.

We are there for them, serving our community.

About Us

Founded in 1998, L'Association des pompiers auxiliaires de la Montérégie (APAM) (Montérégie Auxiliary Firefighters Association) is a charitable organization that provides direct assistance to disaster-stricken citizens at emergency sites and provides operational support to responders affected by the event, whether they are firefighters, police officers or paramedics, as part of a compassionate human approach.

Since no one is safe from a disaster and because no one is ready to face the tragedy, auxiliary firefighters offer immediate assistance to citizens. The fire departments call on them to watch over the victims by offering them shelter, blankets, food and moral support.

Based in our Rougemont fire station, in the heart of our operational territory, APAM offers its services on the territory of 89 municipalities in the Montérégie region thanks to an agreement with 48 fire departments. The Association has 3 intervention buses and a trailer and is made up of a team of 37 passionate volunteer members who offer their time to allow APAM to be fully operational 24 hours a day serving our community.
