Our Mission

Atlantic Ballet Atlantique Canada is a creation based ballet company with a focus on creation, collaboration and creative practices that foster artistic excellence and public engagement in the arts. We are committed to broadening the artistic landscape and audiences through the creation of new works and ensuring a significant and long-term N.B/Atlantic Canadian artistic contribution to the Canadian and international dance community by:

1.Creation and dissemination of new works nationally and internationally while representing our Atlantic region and country as a cultural ambassador to the world;

2. Nurturing and supporting the creative development of our artists by connecting our practice to the national and international community through creation, performance, exchange and training opportunities.

3. Supporting dance and the evolution of creative art through presenting dance and through hosting dance and cross disciplinary artistic residencies;

4. Expanding audience for ballet-art by providing a platform for the intersection of the arts with community through the development of public engagement opportunities with cross sectoral, cross demographic and cross socio-economic partners;

5. Developing our youth through in school and community programs.

About ATLANTIC BALLET ATLANTIQUE CANADA 

Based in Moncton New Brunswick, under the artistic direction of Igor Dobrovolskiy, Atlantic Ballet  is is the only professional ballet company east of Quebec. The Company is unique in Canada as the only performing arts company with a four-province “home” region.

Touring nationally and internationally, Atlantic Ballet is a company of 8 international standard classically trained soloists who have joined the Company from around the world and now make their home in Atlantic Canada. The Company collaborates with many of this country’s most respected designers and theatre professionals to create new ballets that reflect the choreographic vision and artistic philosophy of Mr. Dobrovolskiy.

The Company works to make its performances accessible to the largest possible audience by maintaining reasonable ticket pricing and outreach programs which open the world of dance to people young and old and encourage family participation in the arts.
