We are extremely proud to announce the establishment of the Dr. Jennifer Matthews Legacy Fund for the Atlantic Boychoir – Miss Jennie’s Legacy Fund.
After careful consultation with the Matthews’ family and having been approached by so many caring friends and colleagues, we wanted to create something special to honour the memory of our Miss Jennie.
Dr. Jennifer Matthews was a fundamental part of the Artistic Team of the Atlantic Boychoir from its inception as a collaborative pianist and vocal coach. Miss Jennie accompanied the boys and conducted rehearsals on several tours, retreats, recordings and concerts across the Newfoundland, nationally, internationally.
She genuinely believed in the goals and aspirations of the Atlantic Boychoir and was devoted to the vocal development of both individual members and the choir as a whole. She cared deeply for every member, promoted enrolment, and enthusiastically supported the growth of the organization. Miss Jennie will always be with us.
The fund will foster the development of singers individually and with the choir, assist in covering the cost of tuition and travel for members and support recruitment, retention and growth.
