About
The Atlas Coal Mine National Historic Site is a nationally and provincially designated industrial heritage site, described by historians as the most complete coal mining museum in Canada. The site is owned and operated by the Atlas Coal Mine Historical Society, a local not-for-profit. Atlas is unique in generating the majority of its annual budget through gate revenues. Donations are essential for historic preservation, and maximizing the impact of the valley's "mine-blowing" history.
