ASI is a locally run charity that provides a unique summer program for children and youth ages 6 to 21 years with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in Windsor and Essex County. Since 1984, numerous individuals and families have benefited from the Bruce Awad Summer Program, which runs daily, for six weeks in July and August and offers structured learning, recreational activities and community outings. The students in the program have very significant needs and require one-to-one support that is critical to their progress and safety. The program also provides families with much needed respite during the summer months.
The Bruce Awad Summer Program is celebrating a monumental milestone - 40 years making a significant difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families. The Champion Banner Campaign has become a vital part of our fundraising efforts, enabling us to offer an enriching summer experience to children and youth with autism that is safe, engaging, and supportive.
The benefits of becoming a Community Champion and supporting ASI include:
- Providing financial assistance that is essential for supplying facility rentals, classroom materials, and community outings for our students with ASD;
- 100% of your donation will remain in our community and benefit local families; and
- Donations of $100 or more will be recognized by having your name/logo added to Our Community Champions banner, which will be proudly displayed throughout the summer at the two Summer Program locations in Windsor and Essex. Additional benefits are available to our Champions depending on the donation amount.
