Formed in August 2013, Barbados Canada Foundation grants scholarships to youth of Barbadian heritage attending college and university in Canada and assists healthcare initiatives that focus on children, cancer, blood disorders and Sickle Cell Anemia. We support the SickKids-Caribbean Initiative's Paediatric Nurse Training Program and provide donations of equipment and supplies to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados.
Our annual BCF Charity Golf Tournament, which raises funds in support of the SickKids-Caribbean Initiative's Paediatric Nurse Training Program and Camp Jumoke (a summer camp for children with sickle cell anemia), was scheduled to be held on July 11th at Eagle Ridge Golf Club, Georgetown, Ontario. As a result of the corona virus COVID-19 pandemic this event has now been cancelled.
Bring On The Spring Event 2020, originally planned for April 25th and postponed to August 29th as a result of the corona virus COVID-19 pandemic has also been cancelled. Bring On The Spring Event is an annual dinner organized to raise funds for the donation of medical equipment to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Barbados. This year our objective was to raise a minimum of CAD$22,000 to purchase 20 Enteral Feeding Pumps for donation to the Hospital to assist in its enhancement of patient care.
With the cancellation of these fundraising events this year, we are now totally reliant upon the support of donors to keep our commitments to the SickKids-Caribbean Initiative and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Your generosity is more important at this very difficult time than ever, and we look forward to your support. To donate please go to the donation section below select ‘Bring On The Spring Event’ or ‘BCF Charity Golf Tournament’ from the drop-down menu and apply your donation.
WE NEED YOUR HELP and will be most grateful for your donation.
