Our Mission

Today, Barth syndrome is a rarely understood, frequently fatal, genetic disorder affecting boys. The Barth Syndrome Foundation of Canada's mission is... "Enhancing the lives and outcomes of Canadian individuals and families affected by Barth Syndrome."

We have a vision of "A world in which Barth syndrome no longer causes suffereing or loss of life."

We can make a difference in the lives of those affected by Barth syndrome and we will actively seek to do so.

About BARTH SYNDROME FOUNDATION OF CANADA

The Barth Syndrome Foundation of Canada is a purely volunteer charitable organization that works on behalf of Canadians affected by this rare metabolic condition.

The objects of this organization are:

To provide health information regarding causes, treatments and potential cures for Barth syndrome to affected individuals and their families, as well as to medical doctors, medical researchers and health workers.

To provide individuals with Barth syndrome and their families with access to health counseling, information or group support programs.

To fund research into causes and possible treatments of Barth syndrome and make the results publicly available.

We are actively doing work in all of these areas, and in order to continue this and expand our programs, we need your help
