Invasive Species, Plastics cleanup, Promotion of Outdoor Education - 2024

The BC Marine Trails stewardship team actively engages volunteers to work on the following campaigns:

1. Gerald Island Invasive Species removal - we have one to two annual intensive English Ivy (and other invasive species) removal from this provincial park. It's located near Nanoose Bay on the east coast of Vancouver Island.

2. World Ocean Week - we mobilize paddlers to launch and reach beaches that are often not accessible except by boat. We clean up plastics from various beaches.

3. Marine Trail Code of Conduct and Public Education - the BC Marine Trails is working toward changing behaviour of recreationists around key issues associated with camping and recreation on the West Coast of BC. We also work with First Nations.

4. In 2024, we likely will have a Vargas Island clean up working with another organization. Check our events and newsletters for the latest information.
