BC Women's Hospital trains doctors, midwives and nurses in all aspects of women’s and newborn health, because the highest risk pregnancies and the most critically-ill newborn babies in the province are sent to us for the highest level of specialized care.
BC Women’s Hospital focuses our research, teaching and care on women's health and the health of their families. We specialize in maternity care; breast and cervical cancer screening; chronic disease support; and HIV/AIDS care, to name a few.
Our Newborn ICU is BC’s main hub for the delivery of critical neonatal care. State-of-the-art technology and specialist doctors and nurses provide the highest level of intensive care to the province’s sickest babies.
To diagnose, treat, and care for women and infants across the province, BC Women's Hospital needs advanced equipment and program support that isn’t funded by the government.
The BC Women's Foundation's mission is to increase financial support so BC Women's can purchase the essential medical equipment and fund the unique health programs that reflect the needs of women, newborns, and their families.
BC Women's Foundation supports the hospital so that:
- BC Women's can continue to be a national leader in meeting the health needs of women, while treating patients and their families as partners in their health care choices.
- BC Women's can continue to provide academic, career, and leadership opportunities for health care professionals pursuing specialties in women's health.
Donations to BC Women's Hospital extend to every woman in BC, and ensure that women have a place in healthcare to call their own.
