Our Mission

Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre (BTLC) is a registered charity providing educational programs designed to meet the unique needs of children with autism and other developmental disabilities. At BTLC we believe that to help children reach their potential we must provide educational opportunities that are tailored to the individual needs of each unique child that we serve. We believe that every child has the right to quality education and it is our mandate to provide the flexibility and supports required to build each child’s ideal educational placement.

About Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre Ltd.

BTLC operates a small preschool 15 hours per week (Five 3-hour mornings). The overall goal of BTLC is to continue to provide the education that children with autism spectrum disorders require. Research shows that the greater the intensity of programming for children with autism, the greater the outcome for the child. To do this we maintain a small student to staff ratio and operate a maximum number of hours. We are able to access limited funding from Alberta Education but this funding is not sufficient to fund the small ratios or the additional hours which we provide to help our students meet their potentials. We require charitable funding to consistently set measurable goals for each child, as well as respond/adapt to individual behaviours/needs as they develop to maintain a rapid pace of learning.
