About BEREAVED FAMILIES OF ONTARIO, South Central Region (Hamilton/Burlington)
Bereaved Families of Ontario - South Central Region (BFO-SCR) is an affiliate of Bereaved Families of Ontario. Established in 1988, we are a non-profit, volunteer driven organization that provides free bereavement programs and support services for families and individuals. The purpose of BFOSCR is to provide well-organized and professionally supervised peer-to-peer support programs. Our goal is to facilitate and reinforce the normal grief process by providing mutual support to encourage and enable the bereaved to reduce their sense of isolation and begin to reinvest in life and find hope again. We educate and sensitize health care professionals, funeral directors, clergy, school personnel, community service providers, the business community and the general public in the South Central Region to the needs of bereaved adults, youth and children.
