Better Days Society (BDS) is a grass roots charity operating in the Vancouver BC area. Our mandate is to support families experiencing severe financial strain while caring for a child with complex health issues.
The majority of our funding requests are prepared by the Social Workers in various departments within BC Children's Hospital. They become engaged with families when financial hardship becomes an issue. They use us as a last resort funding source (they exhaust all of their other sources prior to approaching us) and we have a very simple and quick process to review and respond to funding requests from them.
We operate with 100% volunteer staff, and no significant operational costs - meaning that almost all of our funding received is used to assist families in need!
Our Society was started in 2004.
