In Canada, hundreds of thousands of children grow up facing hardships like poverty, violence, family instability, and identity-based discrimination. These hardships can negatively affect a child’s physical and mental health.
With mentoring, kids can overcome these early setbacks. According to Harvard researchers, every child who does well has had at least one stable relationship with a supportive adult. In other words, mentoring is a critical factor in young people achieving more - doing better in school, pursuing fulfilling careers, and making healthier life choices - no matter what adversities they face.
On Tuesday, November 27, 2018, our goal is to raise $3,000 and raise the awareness of the urgent need for mentors in the lives of Canadian youth.
Mentoring takes more than volunteer time. It takes dollars to match, train, and support mentors so that they can support youth in leading happier, healthier lives. Your donation can change the life of a child today - and create a beautiful future for us all.
This #GivingTuesday, please give young Canadians the confidence to achieve more!
