Donate to support the renovation of Fernwood NRG’s childcare centre, which offers safe, nurturing and supportive care for infants, toddlers and 3-5 year olds. Operating since 1979, the centre is in dire need of a refresh to provide an accessible, functional and engaging space for the children and families it supports. The renovation wish list includes new flooring, a covered wheelchair accessible outdoor patio, indoor/outdoor usable storage, a fresh coat of paint, and—if possible—an air conditioning unit to make the centre tolerable throughout the hot summer months.

Additional funds raised will support the ongoing operations of the non-profit organization and childcare centre, as well as their family programming and outreach services which support over 100 vulnerable families in the Fernwood community.

ABOUT THE GOOD CITY PROJECT

The Good City Project is a community fund created by Big Wheel Community Foundation and Aryze Developments. Together with citizens and local businesses, we support city-building projects across Greater Victoria that help create more healthy, resilient and inclusive communities for all. The founding partners have already funded more than $500,000 worth of city-building initiatives since 2019, with another $250,000 that will be allocated over the next 12-24 months. Focusing on rapid action and collaboration, the fund looks to empower citizens who want to support their community, public realm and those in need. 100% of all funds raised are directed to support community initiatives, as all operating and admin costs are covered by the founding organizations.
