Holiday Giving Campaign: Community Hub Climate Action

This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating the Community Hub — the heart of the Biosphere Institute’s creative, community-led climate action.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors last year, we were able to award micro-grants to local groups and individuals leading meaningful climate and community projects, including Grow & Glow with Ethiocare, the Jam for Jasper benefit concerts, Indigenous healing circle, and several youth-, arts-, and culture-led initiatives. These projects show what’s possible when neighbours, artists, elders, newcomers, and community leaders come together to build hope.

The Community Hub centers diverse ways of knowing, creativity, and grassroots leadership. We support climate action that feels inclusive, culturally grounded, and empowering. With your help, we’ve also delivered programs that nurture mental health and climate resilience, including our Active Hope workshop with Daryl Kootenay, our free monthly Earth Talks, and circular-economy initiatives like the Library of Things and Share & Repair Fairs.

Your gift today helps keep this work thriving — and here’s what your impact can look like:

🌱 What Your Gift Makes Possible

$25 — Spark a Skill Share

Helps pay a local community repairer or sewer at the next Share & Repair Fair, keeping items out of the landfill while building community skills and confidence.

$50 — Equip a Climate Wellness Workshop

Provides materials and supplies for hands-on community sessions from Active Hope workshops to Library of Things demos supporting climate resilience and reducing eco-anxiety.

$100 — Host a Free Earth Talk (with a donor shout-out!)

Supports one Earth Talks session, bringing together experts, artists, youth, and knowledge keepers. We’ll highlight your contribution at the event (or keep it anonymous if you prefer).

$250 — Support a Community-Led Collaboration

Covers venue fees, facilitation, translation, or art supplies for collaborations like Grow & Glow, the Animal Pride panel, or a future youth- or arts-led climate project.

$500 — Fund a Community Micro-Grant

Fully supports a micro-grant for a grassroots climate or social-ecological initiative — helping someone’s idea become a real project in the Bow Valley.

$1,000 — Power a Season of Creative Climate Action

Helps sustain a full season of Community Hub programming, from Earth Talks to repair workshops to Indigenous-led teachings — building long-term community capacity and climate hope.

This holiday season, your support helps us continue weaving together creativity, culture, climate action, and community care.

Donate today — and help us build a resilient, connected, and hope-filled Bow Valley. πŸ’š
