Blyth: The Heart of Canada's Rural Creativity
We’d like you to join us in an exciting project that honours our past and plans for our future.
Rural Communities are at a Crossroads. The opportunity is now to build a unique cultural hub - a centre that addresses challenges facing not only our community but rural communities across Canada. We have a three-step plan to accelerate economic growth and social renewal through the arts. Through our activities we will inspire others through the arts and nurture creative thinking to identify new economic, creative and recreational opportunities.
By Supporting "Campaign 14/19" you support all aspects of our work.
PHASE 1: Blyth Memorial Community Hall, visited annually by thousands of people at the Blyth Festival and for other cultural events, is going to get a facelift. The plans for a $3.8M renovation include accessibility improvements, audience comfort and safety, restoration of historical features and HVAC - heating, ventilation and air-conditioning. By choosing BMCH, your support will be directed toward the revitalization and ongoing maintenance of Blyth Memorial Community Hall
PHASE 2: By choosing CCRC, your support will be directed toward the build of the Grant & Mildred Sparling Centre, home of the Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity. The flagship programs at this arts and innovation hub are Fashion Arts & Creative Textiles, Theatre Arts, New Media and Rural Voice/Rural Policy.
PHASE 3: By choosing RURAL TRUST, your support will be directed towards supporting arts and cultural programming in the region - including the Blyth Festival, Canadian Centre for Rural Creativity and other local arts organizations/events and professional artists.
