About LWF:

The Lake Winnipeg Foundation (LWF) is an environmental non-governmental organization seeking solutions to ensure a clean, healthy Lake Winnipeg and watershed now and for future generations.

Founded in 2005 as a volunteer coalition of concerned lake-lovers, LWF today is emerging as a leading organization working collaboratively with non-profit, academic, industry and government sectors and the public to restore and protect our great lake.

Our eight-point Lake Winnipeg Health Plan recognizes our shared responsibility for the health of Lake Winnipeg and its watershed. Guided by our Science Advisory Council, we are translating science into action to address the root causes of harmful algae blooms and restore the balance of this vital ecosystem.

Important information for donors:

A donation of $50 or more entitles you to a one-year LWF membership. Our members have the right to vote at our annual general meetings and receive copies of our newsletter, The Watershed Observer, published twice a year. If you would prefer to receive an electronic copy of our newsletter, let us know by leaving a comment in the message box.

Please note, we recognize all supporters who have donated $200 or more in the fall & winter edition of our newsletter. If you do not want us to publish your name, contact us by phone or email.
