Boundless operates a therapeutic school for at-risk and alienated youth, many of whom deal with mental health and learning challenges. We offer them an opportunity to earn high school credits and equip them with tools to re-engage in meaningful lives. Our campus is a 600-acre riverside property, diverse in flora, fauna and landscape, where students are embedded in the natural world for up to 300 days of learning and transformation.
Boundless has been chosen as one of Canada's Top Charities for three consecutive years by Charity Intelligence.
Our partner TDSB and TCDSB schools have reported outstanding outcomes from their “Boundless” students. For example, at Lakeshore Collegiate, our largest partner, students’ behavioural incidents dropped 80%. School suspension rates across the entire school dropped by two thirds. Post Boundless, at risk students achieved a pass rate of 96.3% vs. a previous rate of 57.1% (Source Darryl Hobbs, Lakeshore Collegiate, TDSB).
In our long-term education model – the Live-In School - 100% of students completed the project and either earned their full high school diploma right at Boundless, or returned to their mainstream schools full time. Math and English grades improved by 26% and 24% respectively. Caregivers and mental health professionals reported significant gains in students’ life and social skill development, a significant reduction in maladaptive behaviours, and enduring improvements in fitness and across other wellness indicators.

Our Educational Model
In the Spring and Summer (May-Aug), Boundless runs five to thirteen-day adventure therapy programs. These referrals are done in a group capacity, where cohorts of 10-15 struggling teens earn high school credits and find their confidence.
It is from this population of kids, numbering 300 strong, that we carefully select youth to participate in our BLISS (Boundless Live-In School) residential program. They spend forty to three-hundred days at Boundless, spanning multiple seasons. The BLISS program is where enduring transformations occur, and where we invest the bulk of our human, mental health and financial resources.
We use a long-term educational approach that is highly attentive and encourages self-responsibility. We use physical activity and outdoor adventure as a key motivator. We teach Math and English curriculum and a host of other engaging credits. The character gains our students have made are proving to be profound and enduring.
