This is a community group made up of the Salvation Army, The Bread of Life, the Canadain Mental Health Assoc and Literacy Alberni.

This group is running a barrier free food bank and soup kitchen, that has been providing services to on av 180/people day since March 16th. Meals are either hot or on alternate days a boxed lunch with fruit and drinks.

Due to high volume purchasing by the citizens there has been less food than normal available from local supermarkets, with the result that considerable costs have been incurred to purchase food, at least over the initial two weeks.

Volunteer labour is being used where possible.
