With your support, the BC Lymphedema Association is spreading awareness for early diagnosis and intervention for Lymphedema and Lipedema, advocating for more coverage for patients, providing education to patients through workshops and Zoom presentations and granting awards to Lymphedema Therapists in training to help offset the cost of the specialty training.  

Lymphatic diseases represent a serious problem in the health community.  Lymphedema is chronic edema (swelling) due to a blockage in the lymphatic system (many times due to cancer surgery).  This disease is incurable and progressive.  More people have Lymphedema than MS, Parkinson's, ALS and AIDS combined. 

We need more caring and educated therapists and doctors to help diagnose and treat lymphedema early in its progression.
