About the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society
The British Columbia Schizophrenia Society (BCSS) is a provincial non-profit organization dedicated to supporting families and caregivers of those affected by schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses through education, advocacy and research.
Founded in 1982 by families and friends of people living with schizophrenia, BCSS is a province-wide network that equips families with the knowledge, resources, and support to navigate the healthcare system and care for loved ones living with serious mental illness.
BCSS provides family education programs, support groups, youth education programs, trusted information, advocacy and community resources while working to reduce stigma and improve services for individuals and families affected by schizophrenia and other severe and persistent mental illnesses across British Columbia.
