Our Mission

Camp Carmangay is a community resource and registered non-profit organization.

Our mission is to provide a cost effective camp for disadvantaged youth between the ages of 12-25. Our goal is to educate youth on life skills and positive lifestyle choices. Camp Carmangay is a prevention-based resource with the objective of reducing crime in our communities.

By providing Life Skills to youth, Camp Carmangay is providing both an immediate impact and a lifetime value of knowledge to its client base and donors. The impact of life skills is immediate as cooking, cleaning, and managing a household are lifetime value based skills. Often connected to homelessness is the inability to manage a home.

When work ethic and skills have been developed and referrals for emotional needs are in place, a young person can move forward and choose when to draw from the knowledge and resource base acquired.

The end goal is to contribute to the opportunity these youth deserve to be a part of mainstream society.

Camp Carmangay is a prevention-based organization targeting the next generation. The "Life Skills" program is a main component of personal development and is expectation based cooking, cleaning and personal hygiene are the main focus. Carpentry for job skill training into a trade Western horsemanship etc. is designed to build esteem and confidence, which helps youth overcome barriers.
