Our Mission
To enhance the lives of single mom families struggling with poverty, isolation, addiction, homelessness and abuse by offering a unique, stress-free camping experience in northern Ontario and Alberta in June each year.
About CAMP CUCUMBER
Founded in Ontario in 1990, Camp Cucumber offers single moms on financial assistance and their kids (aged 5-13) the opportunity to experience a true Canadian tradition: sleepover camp. Each year in the last week of June, moms and kids take the bus out of the city to take part in swimming, canoeing, fishing, making crafts and learning outdoor skills, away from the stresses and strains of city life. The first Camp Cucumber Alberta will run in June 2020.
Camp Cucumber is a non-profit organization staffed entirely by volunteers and funded by private donations.
