Camp Firefly is a camp experience where children go to honour their loved ones who died, and where they learn how to grieve in healthy ways.
Camp Firefly is a "grief camp" for at-risk youth from Manitoba. It is essentially a grief-therapy summer camp, held over a weekend, where grieving youth learn how to begin processing their grief in healthy ways.
Our grief campers will spend the weekend alternating between grief therapy activities (memory pillows, candlelight ceremonies etc.), and summer camp activities (swimming, wall-climbing, etc.). They are running and laughing one minute, and feeling deep emotions the next minute. And this alternation of activity, and emotion, has a magical effect on our grief campers.
