Help outfit our new Health Centre

Raising Healthy Kids for a Healthy Planet!

Camp Kawartha is asking for your help in creating a Zero Health Centre (zero carbon, zero waste, zero toxins) – showcasing the very best in sustainable design. With straw bale walls, natural materials, energy efficient heating and lighting, living walls and a living roof, the new Health Centre will be a showpiece of sustainability - sequestering more carbon than was used in its construction (absorbing 5 tonnes of carbon!).

Camp Kawartha is an award-winning, accredited outdoor centre and camp in Ontario's Kawartha Lakes region. This summer marks Camp Kawartha’s 100th anniversary. As the management of COVID-19 improves, the Camp looks forward to welcoming hundreds of summer campers and helping them build skills to enjoy the outdoors and to explore the beauty of nature in the Kawartha’s.

Camp Kawartha’s Health Centre is where we look after the health needs of our campers, students and visitors. The Health Centre staff deal with everything from cuts and poison ivy to homesickness and viruses; they take pride in assuring parents that their children are well cared for.

Of course, you can’t have a Health Centre without stethoscopes, examination tables, treatment carts, bedding ... even smoke alarms! A digital thermometer is $15.00; a glass storage cylinder for tongue depressors is $31.00; a stethoscope -- $120.00. These are not big things, but they are vital things.

We need your help to make this happen.

Your donation today will help Camp Kawartha outfit this innovative Health Centre which is needed for the first intake of kids in June!

Please consider a donation. Your generosity will help make a child’s adventure at camp a sustainable and adventurous one. An experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives!

Thank you!
