Help young females from financially-strained families attend the three-and-a-half-year General Nurse-Midwifery (GNM) diploma at Guru Nanak College of Nursing in Dhahan-Kaleran, Punjab, India.
Whether you donate $5 or $5000, you WILL make an impact by transforming REAL lives of REAL people.
Your tax-deductible donation will:
- Help uplift families from poverty
- Give young women independence and confidence
- Add healthcare personnel resources to rural Punjabi communities
- Boost local economies in rural Punjab
Some background:
- Girls in rural India are rarely educated beyond primary grades.
- Guru Nanak Mission Medical and Educational Trust (GN Trust) offers reduced fees for its primary and secondary school students whose families are in dire economic situations.
- After graduating from high school, families often can't afford to send their daughters to higher education. Instead, they are married off.
- GN Trust operates the Guru Nanak College of Nursing, which offers a three-and-a-half-year General Nurse-Midwifery (GNM) diploma, as well as a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc.N) degree and a Post Basic B.Sc. program.
- This fundraiser is to help young, disadvantaged girls attend the three-and-a-half-year General Nurse-Midwifery (GNM) diploma program.
- The Guru Nanak College of Nursing diploma program is recognized by the Punjab Government, the Punjab Nurses Registration Council in Chandigarh and the Indian Nursing Council in New Delhi.
- It costs approximately $1200 CAD to send one student to nursing school per calendar year.
- Student jobs and loans are non-existent in rural India.
- We want to send 10 students to nursing school for the 2023 - 2024 academic year.
