The Canadian Arab Institute is proud to support the Arab-Canadian response to the Lebanon crisis through research, policy and community engagement.

Today we launch this campaign in April to support an Arab-Canadian nonprofit organization called INAYA’SCARE. This organization has dedicated its efforts to support those struggling in Palestine and Lebanon during COVID-19.

INAYA’SCARE has planned its April journey by dividing it into a four-week events campaign focused on providing multiple resources for the community. Listed below are the four weeks and how the donations will be used.

PERIOD 1: (FIRST 10 DAYS) INAYA’S COVID PACKAGE

The purpose of this package is to help families be safe with COVID-19 by having access to basic sanitation. This includes hand sanitizer, masks and gloves. Each family will be given one of these boxes. The cost of this box is roughly $10 US.

INAYA’S HOUSEHOLD PACKAGE

The second package will include basic household foods such as cooking oil, rice, pasta, and tea. The cost of each package is roughly $25 US.

INAYA’S MEAT PACKAGE

The last package given to families will include a 1 kg of chicken which costs roughly 4 US and 1kg of beef which costs $8 US.

PERIOD 2: (DAY 10-20) INAYA’S HOT MEALS

The second period is dedicated to providing hot meals to families in need. INAYA’SCARE teamed up with a local catering restaurant so that it can have hot meals ready for families which each cost roughly $4 US. Each meal will include rice, chicken or beef, and salad.

PERIOD 3: (DAY 20-END OF MONTH) INAYA’S SHOES

This last period will contain giving back clothing items to families. Clothing will be assigned to families such as shoes. Our goal is to provide shoes for 500 individuals in need. This demographic will include children, individuals with mental health challenges and seniors.
