By competing in 2019 FIBA 3x3 Women's Series, Team Canada is earning valuable national federation ranking points which will be used in determining those countries that are eligible to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Based off their performance through their first three events, Canada has risen from 95th to 40th in the Women’s FIBA 3x3 Federation rankings.
Each national federation can register one team at the FIBA 3x3 Women's Series.
Teams then qualify for individual events based on the number of events they have already been allocated to and their team ranking.
The 2019 season will consist of 8-12 events from May to September. Each country will have an opportunity to compete in up to six preliminary stops, plus the 2019 FIBA 3x3 Women's Series final in Udine, Italy.
