The Canadian Canoe Foundation is a registered charity that develops watershed-wide education projects that culminate in youth leadership environmental education canoe-trips. Our youth participants return to their communities as Future Leaders, educating and motivating their family and friends about environmental issues and what ordinary citizens can do to work towards solutions.
The Foundation partners with local environmental organizations who are working to protect the lakes and rivers we travel. Our youth participants get an on the water education about the work that is being done to protect Canada's water resources and are provided opportunities to become active in the conservation campaigns of our partnering organizations.
About CANADIAN CANOE FOUNDATION
During the week long wilderness expeditions, participants take part in structured lessons in the following subject areas: canoeing and camping skills, geography, biology and ecology. Post-trip activities permit participants to share their experiences with their communities (e.g. school assemblies, articles in local newspapers) and to engage in the work of our environmental partners.
