The Canadian Croatian Choral Society was established in January, 2013 under the artistic direction of renowned musician and educator Edward Joseph Mavrinac. The choir is comprised of more than sixty enthusiastic choristers drawn together by a love of Croatia's rich musical heritage. Members ranging in age from 29 to 83, travel from the Greater Toronto Area and Niagara Peninsula for weekly rehearsals. The choir performs a repertoire of classical, sacred, folk and contemporary music in Croatian, English, Latin, Italian, French, Greek and Japanese.
Our Purpose:
1. To advance the public's appreciation of the arts by providing high quality performances of choral works.
2. To reach out to those who may not be able to attend our ticketed events. The choir provides free performances in senior's homes, retirement and long- term residences, community events and hospitals where the power of music is proven to be ageless.
3. To advance education by providing publicly available scholarships. Each year the choir awards one scholarship to study music at the post secondary school level.
