More than 200,000 people in Somalia are living with catastrophic hunger.
The country is experiencing its fifth failed rainy season, which means that small-scale farmers have crops that are stricken by drought instead of growing food. It means that pastoralists watch their herds wither and die, instead of providing a much-needed livelihood for their families.
With the severe drought, more than 1 million people have had to leave their homes to try and find a place that might provide access to food. With many families finding refuge in temporary settlements with only tents for shelter.
Our members and their partners are on the ground, responding by providing emergency food and nutrition assistance to children, men and women.
